Parliament of FYROM is expected to convene today in order to elect the new Speaker. The meeting has been called by the previous Speaker, Trajko Veljanovski. The heads of parliamentary groups are expected to deliberate the proposals for the post of the Speaker of Parliament and the proposals for the creation of other parliamentary commissions.

Meanwhile, amid calls to block access to parliament through protests, the head of the Public Security Office, Mitko Cavkov said that police is on high alert, in order to make sure that MPs enter the parliament building without any obstacles.

This reaction comes after several warnings have been issued for massive protests by the “For a united Macedonia” movement and its threats that MPs may enter parliament, but they may not come out. /
